V3 Mediaworks is based on over 28 years in the computer industry, over 17 years of local Internet industry experience, and was founded in March 2002 by Jamie Penner. V3 Mediaworks is an Internet services company specializing in the development of web site designs, web based applications, and web site hosting solutions for small to medium sized businesses and corporate end users. V3 offers a full range of solutions including web site design and development, web site hosting, Internet marketing, content development, dynamic web site and online application development, Linux server setup and administration, and specialized email development.
We operate servers in Vancouver BC, Dallas Texas, Seattle Washington, and Washington DC. For the purposes of your hosting requirements, we have virtually no limits on our 100Mb/sec capacity at our facilities. It is protected by man-trap, closed circuit camera systems and 24/7 on-site personnel. We monitor all aspects of our server connectivity and functionality around the clock with direct notification with 5 minutes of any failure. All systems are on full UPS and diesel generated backup power.
V3 Mediaworks is owned and operated by Jamie Penner. His background in the computer industry dates back to 1983 and he began his foray into the world of electronic mail and communications shortly thereafter. In 1990, he developed software to act as a gateway between Internet Newsgroups and much smaller BBS networks. In 1994, Jamie began his work on establishing himself as one of the starters in the Nanaimo Internet industry. His initial pioneering work led to one of the first uses of a server running Linux to have multiple IP addresses on a single network adapter. As well, he developed one of the first web based email management applications which are so widely in use today. Using these skills and new products, he founded Nisa Online Systems and later went on to be the first Nanaimo based ISP to offer full ISDN, 56K, and analog dialup services, as well as establishing Nanaimo's first co-location data centre in 1998. Jamie then moved on in 2002 to establish V3 Mediaworks.
Using a team of programmers and designers, V3 offers diverse solutions in a complex and sophisticated marketplace. V3's technical staff are fluent in the following programming languages and technologies: PHP, Perl, C, C++, Javascript, HTML, MySQL, Flash, and numerous graphic design programs.
Community Involvement
V3 Mediaworks is very involved in the local community. Through V3, Jamie Penner has been responsible for donating services and offering reduced rates to literally dozens of organizations - even winning a national community leadership award for work with his previous company in 2001.
His involvement with the Child Development Centre dates back over 16 years now, including sitting on the Board of Directors for 7 years as well as donating the hosting and design of the Child Development Centre and Silly Boat Regatta web sites. Jamie also does the web site for the Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival and is proud to have been the official designer for the 2002 BC Summer Games, the 2005 BC Disability Games and the Nanaimo Clippers from 2002 through 2008.
